Near misses, one crash later. it's still a dreadful problem.

Many motorists don't stop on red lights and look, many just turn without looking. I've crossed and dodged cars coming from two directions at once. I wonder if anyone is looking into the problem. What about a 'scramble' cross or flashing lights with there is a pedestrian sign on?
