This issue has been reported several times already.
Pleas consider my request an addition to those similar requests.
Burns Road has still not been plowed successfully.
I and several other Burns Road residents shoveled an entire lane on the street.
We did this for access reasons and also to assist the plows so that they could clear the snow from the street more easily.
However, the plows only came twice and they plowed over we had already shoveled.
Half of the road is still full of snow..
Burns Road residents did not have enough parking spaces before the storm and we now have even fewer parking spaces available.
In addition to the scarce parking problem, we now have other East Rock residents parking their vehicles in the few spaces on Burns Road.

i will never ever shovel the street again!
i was doing the right thing & assisting my neighbors as well as the public works plowers. This resulted in burns road not being plowed & we, the residents having to alter our lives & spend our time searching for a parking street!
uggghhhhh!!!

I have been reaching out to our alderman, clickfixit and also my landlord and as of today nothing has been done to take care of Burns Road or the sidewalks on Whitney Avenue and Burns Road???
I share your frustration and most of all your genuine concern for the well being of all of us residents who have to live with this.

I have asked the city to address the sight line issues at Burns/Whitney.
The city has one crew working on snow clearance now. There are several reasons for only one crew. First, normal public works crews are back doing trash pick up and second, the city was paying $250,000/day on outside contractors removing snow. Given that we already were looking at a significant deficit before the storm, continuing to pay that amount every day is a difficult choice to make. Of course, ideally we would have all streets cleared much better than they are now. Ideally we would own better equipment. But owning the resources to address this type of rare occurrence in the past might not have been the best financial decision. Now with increased occurrences of these type of weather events, it will be something we will be talking about.
Most important is site lines and safety so that is where the City will be focusing. People around the city are upset about the situation. I wish I had a better answer for you.

I give up!
My husband fixed the sight lines this morning because the city has done NOTHING! Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the horrible plowing job.
I wish we could secede to Hamden.....
