The picnic tables were removed last summer and never replaced at the park by Spalding Drive Elementary. There are three concrete slabs where tables used to be. We would love to have the picnic tables back.

With the addition of the concrete barriers on the hill at Dalrymple and Roswell Road, almost all cars traveling in that direction must be in the turn lane. When the turn signal comes on in both directions, cars planning to go straight across Roswell Road cannot go and it blocks the people trying to turn left. Then, when the straight green comes on, people turning left to go north cannot turn because of oncoming traffic going straight. And that prevents more people from being able to turn go straight across Roswell road from the west side of Dalrymple. The traffic is backing up terribly. Today, it took me 30 minutes instead of 12 - 15 to get from my house to Sandy Springs Middle School. At 9am, traffic was still backed up to Dunhill.

Is it possible to modify the light pattern so that one side of Dalrymple goes while the other is still on red and then have the other side go? I think that will reduce the congestion down Dalrymple.

Pothole in right eastbound lane of Heard Ferry right at Riverside Dr.
  • Johnson Ferry Rd Nw Sandy Springs 30328, United States - Sandy Springs
An ongoing issue at the intersection of Abernathy/Johnson Ferry/Brandon Mill is that Southbound Brandon Mill Traffic during early morning (about 730 to 8 AM) cannot traverse through the intersection due to the volume of vehicles that do not yield from the right turn lane that takes the Johnson Ferry cars south onto Johnson ferry. Of course driver behavior is a compounding factor when Brandon Mill has the greenlight and those folks do not yield. There has to be a mechanism that would hold some of that right turning traffic (possibly an arrow that can be red for a period of time in conjunction with a no turn on red sign so when southbound Brandon Mill traffic has the green light it would hold cars in the right turn lane). This would facilitate at least some car’s ability to cross over Abernathy from Brandon mill to Johnson ferry. Please review footage or watch cameras during that morning time when this is occurring. Traffic on Brandon Mill backs up to Mark Trail and beyond on a regular basis.

At the intersection of Brandon Mill Road and Abernathy, the street signs are no longer illuminated. They used to be back-lit from the inside, but they are now dark and un-illuminated.

The construction on dalrymple for the intersection project is causing major delays eastbound on dalrymple, particularly in the mornings 7:30-9:30 when students are trying to get to school. The lights need to be adjusted to allow more cars to go through per cycle so students can get to school on time. It should not take 20 minutes to get from Glencourtney to Roswell road.
  • 135 Mount Vernon Hwy Nw Sandy Springs 30328, United States - Sandy Springs
The left turn arrows for Sandy Springs Circle onto Mount Vernon Highway both to go eastbound and westbound NEVER turn green. These arrows always, even when there is traffic waiting in the turn lanes when the light is red, always blink yellow when the light changes.

The timing on this light has been changed. The amount of time the light spends green for drivers on Riverside crossing Johnson Ferry is completely inadequate. I think waiting at a stoplight for 13 minutes is too long. I had to wait for four cycles of the light to get through this intersection, and it was not that many cars were waiting.

I live in Brandon Mill Summit. I drive through the intersection of Abernathy and Johnson Ferry/Brandon Mill to go south towards my office at Century Springs on Mt Vernon every single weekday. I get stuck in the Southbound Brandon Mill Traffic during the early morning from about 7:30 to 8:00 and I cannot get through the intersection when the cars do not stop or yield from the right turn lane onto Johnson Ferry.
When my light is green from Brandon Mill for me to go through the intersection onto Johnson Ferry people in that right turn lane do not stop or yield. It leaves all of us trying to cross Abernathy either stuck in the intersection or sitting through multiple cycles of the light. Can a red light be installed for the right turning traffic that would make them wait during my green cycle of the light? Like a no turn on red several seconds before our light turns green? Just to create a path and space for us to cross? I regularly wait through 2-3 cycles of the light and traffic behind me is backed up almost to my neighborhood at North Mill Rd.

Yellow traffic signal is constantly blinking. It is dangerous because no one can follow the signal and there is a blind corner there.

Please, please, please consider fixing the light sequencing at Heards Ferry and Riverside. It was at least a 20+ minute wait after 9 am to go 1 mile on Riverside. Why is it so long? This is long after Riverwood HS starts and there is minimal traffic on Heards Ferry. This traffic flow is terrible.

The expansive, lane-widening Project TS-108, set for 2023, that is designed for the corner of Dalrymple Road and Roswell Road, will dangerously impact the street-level safety of pedestrians, MARTA-riding North Spring Charter High School students, and bikers at that corner. Plus, it will greatly increase the traffic of heavy, speeding, commercial trucks (including numerous 18-wheelers!!) that are using the Dalrymple Road-Riverside Drive route as a shortened, speedy cut-through to Cobb County at Johnson Ferry.

Traffic-calming would be more favorably impacted by simply adding full traffic signals at the increasingly dangerous intersections of Dalrymple Road and Brandon Mill Road (at The Lost Corner Preserve) and of Dalrymple Road and Princeton Way (already with a flashing 'Vehicle Approaching" yellow light signal).

This Project TS-108 needs to be halted and more carefully evaluated as to it's hugely negative impact on citizen safety that will be caused by it's significantly increasing dangerous, speeding, commercial, cut-through truck traffic along the Dalrymple-Riverside route to Johnson Ferry Road.
