Descrizione
I have been in a wheelchair for the past three months and can’t access the handicap corner at Garden and 2nd because of the condition of the sidewalk for several feet leading up to the corner. This problem has been there for several years it has now made it impossible for not just myself but I’m sure other to safely get to the corner. Please look into this issue.
Secondly traffic on this same area of Garden has become increasingly heavy with speeders and large delivery trucks that are not suppose to drive this street. We live 1 block from the new grade school and have new families with small children in this area.
Thank you for your attention to these issues.

SUBJECT: Traffic on Garden Avenue North
Dear Mr. and Ms. Matthew:
Thank you for contacting the Traffic Operations section of the City of Renton regarding speeding on Garden Avenue North between North 2nd Street and North 3rd Street. On July 27, 2020, my assistant, Ronald Mar, deployed Driver Feedback radar trailers on Garden Avenue North. On August 3, 2020, he removed them. These trailer mounted signs displays driver’s speeds, deterring drivers from exceeding the posted speed limit by displaying a “Slow Down” message.
Truck Prohibition signs are properly mounted on Park Avenue North, Bronson Way North and Sunset Boulevard North. When retrieving the trailers, my assistant noted two delivery trucks on Garden Avenue North. They were parked and the drivers were making local deliveries, so they had legitimate reasons to be there. By a copy of this letter, we inform the police of the need to enforce the speed limit and truck regulations on Garden Avenue North. If you have any questions about this or other transportation operations issue, please feel free to contact my assistant, Ronald Mar, at rmar@rentonwa.gov or me at cbarnes@rentonwa.gov.
Sincerely,
