    Mailboxes extend into the roadway.
Mailboxes positioned like these are not expected and are a hazard.
While riding past on my bike, trying to stay as far to the right as possible, I almost hit this mailbox.

Please address the issue here. People are parking their cars here when they pick up their kids from Renton park elementary school. Those cars created these holes and it's getting larger and kept eroding the soil.

Attached photo shows a diagram of the recent improvements the city made to the crosswalk in front of Sierra Heights Elementary School. There is a big problem with the new curb bulbout on the east side of Union Ave. As a licensed Professional Transportation Engineer myself, I understand the benefit of the curb bulbout, which is to better place pedestrians in the line of sight of the drivers. The west curb bulbout certainly provides that benefit. However, the east curb bulbout is unnecessary as pedestrians on this side of the road are not blocked by parked cars. In fact, this new east bulbout has placed pedestrians in a dangerous area directly in the natural path of the northbound vehicles. For those reasons, I implore the City to correct this issue and remove the east bulbout immediately as it is a dangerous feature providing no benefits.

The blackberry bush was reported before, but the maintenance crew only trimmed it.

The bush has grown back again and the USPS mailer has stressed that the overgrowth makes it unsafe to properly deliver the mail. The overgrowth surrounds the mailboxes and spills into the street.

Is it possible for the city to remove it completely? Both the part that surrounds the mailboxes and where it grows by the metal fence. It's definitely a safety issue where I feel like even the neighbors may be wary of retrieving their mail or walking near that area.

I'm a new student at Renton Tech and want to walk to school from my house on NE 6th St. Can you please add a flashing light crosswalk across Monroe at NE 6th St (like at 4th near Queen)? That is the high point on Monroe which is visible from both north and south bound. But because it is high, neither ditection is likely to see just painted lines. When I walk west on 6th from my house and reach Monroe, I can't walk north/right as there is an embankment. Yes, I can walk south/left on the sidewalk and go 2 blocks south to the crosswalk at 4th, then back north 2 blocks on the RTC sidewalk side of Monroe. But I am more likely to walk directly across at 6th St. 6th St is also a fairly busy road as it's the only cut through to avoid 4th between Monroe and Union. 8th has 2 stop signs and the other 6th has a zig zag, so we get extra traffic, more reason for a flashing crosswalk. I did request this a few years ago too and never heard back. Thank you for considering.

The southwest corner is oddly and dangerously designed with the curb jutting up 4 inches above the sidewalk instead of being flush with the sidewalk. I tripped on it and cartwheel into the street. I'm 72 and could have been seriously injured. This curb is designed differently than the other 3 corners and I have never seen any others designed in this way to block the sidewalk. It also catches debris on the sidewalk side that can't be cleaned up by the street sweeper. Please redesign, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

The curb ramp needs to be redon and made ADA compliant.
This past week I witnessed a elderly lady with a walker crossing in the crosswal Whenn she got to the other side, she had to lift her walker up and over the edge of the curb ramp because it does not smoothly transition from the roadway
I think with the senior living across the street this would be an even more important issue to make sure thatall the curb ramps are properlyAda compliant
It would be a tragedy if someone like this lady fell while trying to lift her walker I know personally, my mother would not have been able to do it without falling.

    compliant

  • Grant Ave S & S Puget Dr Renton, WA, 98055, USA - Renton
There is a curb cut on South Puget drive across the street from Grant Avenue S. I didn't think that it got use since there were no crosswalk markings, but I found that there is an individual in a wheel chair that uses that location to be able to cross the street. Since the curb cut is there It would probably be a good idea to get proper markings and visibility
