Snap indeed. I suspect that Crescent doesn't get swept. We get a lot of debris washing down that side of the street after heavy rains and it accumulates in these miniature sand dunes which then go on to catch dime bags and trash. I typically have to take a snow shovel to the gutters a few times a year. Let's keep an eye on it and make sure that Crescent is getting swept.

As an aside, not that you shouldn't have anonymity if you want it, but posting with your real name does seem to help people relate and act. If my alder sees this he knows that I am a real person in his ward and not just a SCF griefer. Just a suggestion.

I think it is important to have a clear bike lane here. This is a heavily used route. Keeping the lanes swept was identified as a priority in the city's 2003 bike plan.

[photo of bike lane symbol] I went out there about a month ago to take a look and it is, in fact, marked as a bike lane, complete with signs and pavement markings (and mysterious bike signal detector loop signs that say to place your bike over the pavement marking for green light, but I couldn't find any bicycle detector loop pavement markings anywhere on Crescent...).

I noticed that the sand is still there from last winter. It would be nice if DPW could sweep this bike lane at least once sometime in the early spring.

I haven't been by lately, but the street was repaved a few months ago. Presumably there is at least not any gravel anymore, so I will close the issue.
