  There are several areas in the village like this. I walk my dog almost every day throughout the neighborhood. I have to be careful crossing the street because these "trenches" (now filled with water) make it hazardous.

  I personally receive very little from the City of Oakland for the hundreds of thousands of dollars I have paid in property taxes since I bought my house 18 years ago. Our neighborhood “Sheffield Village” as a community has paid literally millions of dollars in property taxes over the years to the City of Oakland. We deserve much more than we are getting, and the pathetic condition of our streets is a perfect example of the neglect we have received.

  Sheffield Village has exceptionally high voter turnout and pays vast sums in taxes. What else do we have to do to get basic services like street maintenance?!

  This area has been crumbling literally for years. It is a mess. Will it take a lawsuit to get Oakland to respond and fix what is there responsibility?

  I’m all for it. Perhaps the HOA can use some of their reserves to hire a lawyer. Maybe the HOA could do something really critical for the neighborhood for a change.

  We received notice that this ticket has been addressed, but IT HAS NOT! This is a disgrace this has ticket still not been fixed then closed and had to be reopened!
