Description
People drive way to fast down the streets in the Beaver Hill neighborhood, and sometimes ignore the stop signs. A lot of people use these streets as a pass-through from Goffe to Crescent, but some are residents. A muscle car was racing up and down Bellevue and Colony the other evening! Squealing tires and everything. As it continues to get warmer, there will be more children playing outside. Lets fix this. Maybe the NHPD can put up one of those radar speed signs or something.

Still the speeding continues...at the corner of Ellsworth and Dyer every school morning I see kids standing on that corner waiting for school, while a large number of people just blow through that four way stop. The children that are waiting there walk up Dyer and I'm concerned that something unfortunate might happen.
Can our Alderperson pls do something about this????

Our alderwoman is too busy paying attention to Winthrop Ave and talking to the Register about her daughter's crazy name to actually care about Beaver Hill issues. She has done little since her inception, other than sticking obnoxiously-colored fliers in our mailboxes. Then she further wasted taxpayer money by mailing almost the exact same info contained in that flier, in an official "newsletter" sent from her office downtown.
The only thing she ever posted at SCF was about a robbery on Colony Rd. Otherwise, she has a secret email list, and that is how she communicates with reisdents. You'll have to join that list, or have your concerns be ignored.
Other alderpersons in New Haven have public SCF watch areas, and that is how it should be - all communications from them to residents should be PUBLIC and available to ALL.

Well, come election time I guess we will have to vote on her productivity or lack thereof as an alderperson representing her constituents.
Perhaps the only votes she receives will be from those lucky enough to be on the "secret email list"!

Moti was not reelected, why?
Also, who saw/heard the crazy driver speeding up and down Moreland on Friday afternoon?

Do you how how to create a watch area for her? I can help if you'd like or watch the demo on the how it works page.

The only way to address this situation it to have the police have multiple roving patrols at different locations throughtout their "beat" to actually witness this activity, ( i.e. speeding, drug activity, inattention to stop signs)
Just in the last week I have witnessed all three on Norton Parkway...I have lived on Norton Parkway for ten years and have not seen as much disregard for law as I have seen in the past 18 months.
Calling the non emergency police number gets you NOWHERE!
We need our alderperson to be our voice for Beaver Hill..if that doesnt happen...then we all should remember that come election time!!!

Have you contacted your Alderperson about this issue?
The city's complete streets policy was adopted unanimously this fall, and there are forms within the new manual for requesting changes like these.
Contact the city's transportation department and/or newhavensafestreets (at) gmail.com (a local advocacy group) if you need assistance requesting these types of changes to your street.
Many of your neighbors agree this is a major problem and that changes should be made ASAP.
