Not sure if this boat ramp is still active or not, but even if it is, this ramp to the water looks like an accident waiting to happen. At night someone impaired or not paying attention could drive right into the river. There is a metal chain, but that wont stop a car.
This location is close to where, in 1988, 4 young adults drowned after the car they were driving in went into the Mill River. I believe there was an issue with a missing barricade.

Actually, the missing barricades was mentioned in that article:
"The inquiry by the New Haven police and several other city departments is focusing on why a concrete barrier was not in place when the youths' car went off the Chapel Street bridge..."
Anyway, nobody wants to see that tragedy happen again, and the open boat ramp at the end of Lloyd Street is a sad reminder of what happened.
