Description
Another SeeClickFix user suggested this as a plausible dog park location. Any thoughts or comments? It seems a reasonable distance from the Wooster Square Park area so it would lessen the amount of dogs in that location and may be a good compromise.

Would it be safe when there wasn't a whole group there? I don't know if I'd feel safe in an isolated spot like that if no other dog owners were around.

Not that we need to have this issue go off topic, but I tried to pre-walk my dog around the outside of Wooster Square Park (on the sidewalk) only to have a man who plants plants in the public park yell at me to not allow my dog to go pee there. This caused me to switch to walking within the confines of the park fence so that he would not yell across the street at me again. But now people don't want us walking in the park either it is a double edged sword not everyone will be happy no matter what the dog owners do!
I can't believe I'm saying this but I can not wait till the winter comes back so that I can walk my dog (and clean up after her) in peace!
Back to the original issue any more thoughts about creating a dog park at this location? Any knowledge of how to get this brought to the city's attention?

As you know, you can walk a dog beforehand, and still have them lift their leg having nothing come out. That other poster would have still complained about that. Two feet away from the dog you can see nothing comes out, but 10 feet away you don't know.

Dear anon,
I'm working with the city to get a price on converting this park into a dog park. There are potential pitfalls in the process that I should have more information on shortly (regarding the parks commission), but hopefully in a week or so we should have more information.
The Wooster Square Blockwatch and the Downtown-Wooster Square Community Management Team would like to hold a friend-raiser to raise money for a proposed dog park. I will keep this thread (and the others) updated when we need to start planning for the event.
We should hopefully have the quote from parks soon (within a week or two), and then we will know how best to proceed.
I am meeting with Aldmerman Smart on Friday to walk the area and discuss another possible location in the neighborhood. My hope is that in using this location, which seems to be underutilized, dog-owning residents from Downtown and Wooster Square will feel that it's close enough to their respective homes to bring their dog for off-leash enjoyment.
Do those watching feel this is a viable area? Does anyone have any reservations? And if so, an alternative area to look at?
Best,
Doug
