Opis
The pedestrian crossing refuge islands for the new Kaiser building along broadway north of Hwy 580 do not have pedestrian buttons built into them. As such, if a pedestrian makes it halfway across the intersection before the light turns green and they take refuge in the refuge island, are they just stuck there until someone on the other side of the street hits the walk button?
The photo provided shows the refuge island on Broadway directly in front of the parking garage exit, but most of the other new refuge islands associated with this project have the same issue.

I care beast_bay, as I am sure will all of the seniors, folks in wheelchairs, and people using crutches who will be exiting the hospital and attempting to cross Broadway but not fast enough to do so in one signal phase. Didn't your mother ever teach you about compassion and understanding for people who might not be as lucky as you?
There have already been too many pedestrians trying to cross Broadway who were injured or killed by drivers due to issues like this. The least we can do is make sure the crossings that do exist are designed for safety and to accommodate all potential users.
