Descrizione

We try and clear this storm drain as much as possible but every time it rains it gets clogged up and flood the whole corner. Seems like there could be a better design here.

There definitely more going on here than cleaning will address. And, with all the new development that will increase runoff and use of storm drains this needs more study and action to correct than just another cleaning. The photo shows only the west side of the intersection. The east side with the old IHOP was also flooded at the same time.

As Renee says, this is definitely a design issue that needs to be addressed. Should anyone actually need the ADA facilities installed on that corner to cross the street, that person would find the sidewalk ramp totally submerged during/after any heavy rain. It's not draining properly.

I cannot find the issue, but the City of Raleigh closed it, this same intersection for sediment. There is usually inches of sand, dirt and rocks along the street and sidewalk of this intersection. There was several inches until just recently, so my hunch is that debris was just pushed into the storm drain.

The drain on this side works fine if it's not obstructed by leaves. The design makes it too easy to get clogged. The other side of the street is a separate issue.

It just rained for 3 days. This is an on going issue. It's not fixed just because it doesn't rain.

After last night's rain, the entire street is covered in about an inch of mud. It's wet, slippery, and dangerous.
