I'm hoping you can convey this to ABQ Ride? I would like to compliment one of their drivers. I don't know his name, but he regularly operates the Route #5 bus at least Wednesday through Friday, and specifically the route running west/south starting at Montgomery and Tramway at 7:14 AM and arriving to ATC at 8 AM those days. He has been driving this route for multiple bids, and as a rider of ABQ Ride for about a decade who has ridden on literally thousands of buses I can say he is one of the best drivers I have ever encountered. Besides his skills for operating the bus safely, but also on schedule, he is very personable and friendly with passengers. My day always starts just a little better getting to work on the days he drives (Wednesday through Friday) because as I am getting on he always greets me and as I am getting off he does the same. The Route #5 has its share of problems, some of which I have witnessed while he was driving, and I have never seen him react in an unprofessional way and I always feel very safe when he is behind the wheel. I hope you can determine who this driver is and extend some appreciation to him and if possible see that he is recognized by his supervisor. Thank you.

I don't even know where to start, all I know is I am deeply saddened and disappointed that another business in Albuquerque is closing. Make that a successful business with a 60 year run. Griff's was one of the best eateries in town and it's sad that after so many years they feel it necessary to close up shop because you and your administration refuse to do anything about the homeless, the addicts and the crime they cause. You have lost control of this once beautiful city and although Albuquerque has always had its share of problems, your absolute willfullness to turn a blind eye to crime is appalling. Dressed up in your lastest snazzy suit and driving in your (taxpayer provided) expensive gas guzzling SUV while businesses and citizens cry out about the crime we deal with on a daily basis is of no matter to you whatsoever. You throw around taxpayer dollars to fund interests that will line your pockets. City Council is at fault too, not just you. Never forget WE THE PEOPLE, THE TAXPAYERS, THE VOTERS elect you. We are your bosses. You answer to us. Not even APD can keep up with the crime here and it almost seems this city is devoid of any type of law enforcement. The homeless and addicts have taken over business properties, alley ways, abandoned buildings and some are now being seen rummaging through residential areas because they know as long as you're mayor laws do not apply to them. Right now, they have more rights than the hardworking, taxpaying, law-abiding citizen. Shootings/Murders almost daily but you and the police chief say nothing. You know most of those crimes are drug related, yet there are no plans to try and stop it. The area of Central from Nob Hill to Tramway is nothing like I once knew. It's like being in a 3rd World Country and sadly the result right now is Griff's having absolutely no choice but close because of the crime in that area. If you want to be mayor, it's not just the area in which you live in that counts, you are mayor of the ENTIRE city. Our city councillor Tammy Fiebelkorn is no better than Diane Gibson and you wonder why there is such animosity towards Democratic leaders in this city. FIGURE IT OUT! If your plan is to do nothing for the rest of your tenure, please consider resigning. This city needs a major overhaul as well as City Hall, top to bottom. We need more police on our streets, we need the homeless addicts rounded up to get them clean and or get them off the streets at least. You wanted to be mayor, this is YOUR job. Do it or resign.

    Sincerely,
A deeply angry and native of Albuquerque.

PS. Please remove the Illegal Fireworks reporting option, you've never done nothing about that either.

I could have sworn he promised to curb crime and get the homeless off our streets? Wasn't that the campaign he ran on? Or am I mistaken? ALBUQUERQUE NEEDS A LEADER! If you're not up to the job, resign. Signed, a regretful voter.

Just curious why these vehicles aren't pulled over and ticketed A day doesn't go by that I don't see a car without a license plate or an expired tag. If they are committing one crime, I'm sure they are committing others, too. Want to clean up the city? Studies have shown that if the police enforce "small" infractions, crime altogether goes down.?

I am an out of town visitor and took a drive through downtown on Sunday. There is no way we could get out of the car and visit any of the businesses as every half block there were intoxicated individuals sprawled out and passed out with tons of their belongings as well as trash in front of the businesses. I don't know how anybody stays in business in downtown because these individuals gave it a very unsafe feeling.

Will you clean up , rename, and reopen the Coronado park or enact your immediate crisis plan for the homeless, drug addicted, population of Albuquerque?

The safety of the citizens and leadership is of concern when the homeless are dispursed into neighborhoods where crime and drug use that accompanies the camps are now having to be monitored and paid for by the neighbors that must clean up and hire thier own security companies to monitor thier homes and cars.

The city has jurisdiction and must provide addiction treatment, hospitalization, and housing for these people.

As well the libraries have become day shelters for homeless where in the bathrooms the smell of Crack smoke eminates from the doors and librarians are being used as security guards instead of teachers.
