this pothole on orange street is right in the path of cyclists

the crosswalk at congress and college needs repainting as soon as possible.

also, is there going to be an in-road pedestrian sign when those return? there really should be one here.

there is a bike missing lots of parts, very rusty, u-locked to the lone bike rack next to city hall in the front. it has been there for weeks & doesn't seem likely the owner will remove it.

please remove, as bike parking here is in high demand.

on the way up towards the farnam ave entrance to east rock, on the left hand side on the hill at the crest, there are several trash bags and tires discarded on the hill.

i usually don't mind picking up what is left at this bus stop on my walk home, but the amount of trash left here is growing.

what are the chances we can add a trash can here?

1. it endangers people (the very citizens paying their salaries, mind you) in crosswalks
2. it often impedes the flow of traffic (sometimes blocking entire travel lanes)
3. it sets a bad example, often leading others to park illegally next to them

will the city take meaningful steps to fix this problem or just continue to look the other way for their own?

because if it is the latter, that is not the type of city i want to live in. and to be perfectly clear: silence = acceptance, city hall.

while exiting the state street trail to east rock park, there was a light brown pit bull looking confused wandering between the sidewalk and the road (with speeding traffic just missing him). he had a collar on, but no leash, and no owner present.

i worried he was lost at first, but he eventually led me to the door at the nearby house and wandered upstairs through an open door.

he looked like his eyes might be damaged, possibly going blind? and also looked very thirsty. can this be looked into?

side note: the property here is in disrepair-- lots of trash in yard and woods leading up to the park (some is likely from state st. traffic, though)

please restripe this crosswalk in a school zone and very active neighborhood. many school kids cross here, and neighbors using tennis and basketball courts and running track.

can the crosswalks on willow between nicoll and foster be repainted? it is difficult to cross here.

there are drivers running red lights constantly in new haven, but it is particularly bad lately at the intersection of willow and orange street.

i just saw a particularly unbelievable case: a dark sports car turned LEFT ON RED DURING THE CROSSWALK PHASE. families with baby carriages were in the middle of crossing. the driver turned too fast for me to catch the plate.

can an officer please attempt some enforcement here?

the traffic signal in the right lane of rte 80 is out at this intersection

the bridge on east rock road near college woods needs new cement. walkers and joggers might turn an ankle, and it would be tricky to navigate in a wheelchair.

garbage truck parked across the street from romeo & cesares blocking not only the bus stop (no standing anytime) but the bike lane, and the view of pedestrians trying to cross at this crosswalk.
(and, it is empty, but the engine is running while they eat breakfast across the street.)

sure, it must be a tough job, and they deserve to sit back and relax with some breakfast. but, there has to be a better way for them to park while they do it.

in my short trip to romeos i saw a cyclist narrowly missed by cars passing each other in the diminished road space, and a mom and baby carriage almost hit because of the way that this truck is parked at the crosswalk.

this afternoon there were six cars illegally parked in the right lane in front of the housing authority.

more enforcement needs to be done here.

the in-road pedestrian sign is missing from the intersection of orange & bishop. this is an area with a lot of pedestrian activity.

i stopped at ferraro's market yesterday, and there was a group of children trying to cross the street to go to the market.

considering the high speeds of vehicles here, and the housing units across the street from the shopping plaza, can there be a crosswalk installed here?

a large part of a tree on orange street just broke off, and fell across the sidewalk.

be careful out there, folks! the trees are weakened by the last hurricane, and the snow and ice makes them really heavy when they still have leaves on them this early in the season.
