The rd which is going to be Tryon Rd has a median in it, blocking the entrance to the Century Collection townhomes.
This issue has apparently been looked at as causing a conflict with Withers Rd, but that is not possible as Withers is on the old/existing Tryon Rd, which be a service rd & will not meet the new one. So there is no conflict.
There is also no median on the existing Tryon Rd at this point...why is there one on the new?
Residents MUST be able to easily access their homes. Ideas include cutting a turn lane like the one at Lake Wheeler (exact same situation...used to have to do a U-turn there), a traffic light (like near other subdivisions on Tryon), a U turn a few feet past the entrance but not all the way up.
This current situation reminds me of the intersection of Tryon & Walnut at Tryon Village. If you turn on Walnut & you want to go to Tryon Village, you must go waaaay up the rd & make dangerous u-turn in heavy traffic.
There will be no traffic light to help people safely make a U on this extraordinarily busy rd. Folks, your current setup is not going to work. Fix it now while there is still time. Take a vote first if you want. Will a petition help?
