This section of cycleway is a known cyclist blackspot. Both pedestrians and cars do not follow or are ignorant of the requirements. Following much thought and personal close calls and the many accidents on this cycleway, I have figured a way to help car drivers to giveway, stop at the footpath/cycleway as they exit streets along this corridor or even exit the regularly deadly BP service station. I believe that the cycleway non-slip green paint with the required white stopline needs to be placed across all driveways and sidestreets along this corridor. Drivers are just not aware of the existance of the cycleway and are happy to charge over it or just park upon it as they wait for a break in traffic. This would create an obvious feature that will reduce the risk currently presented to cyclists. The vision into some of these streets is restricted so much that you do not see the danger until you are practically in its way.
