I think they do downtown after all the sidewalks get cleared by the property owners and they all push it onto the road!

That's another problem. After the road gets cleared, then business owners DO put all their snow in the parking lane. Why aren't they making piles around the trees instead? I have lived in other cities where you WERE NOT ALLOWED to put your snow on the street. You're basically undoing the ploughs work.

That would be some big pile around the poor tree...there should be a law that the business owners remove their own snow and haul it away!

Driving is currently very risky downtown. Saw one car go sideways in the uncleared intersection. Luckily the truck behind was far enough away, otherwise it would been a collision. Is the city trying to reduce traffic by increasing accidents?

Treats are used to having snow around them. It protects them and insulates. In the spring (and variously thru the winter) it melts and waters the tree.
