The flooding issue exists also on West College Street. My address is 2709 W. College and any time we have any significant rain, I have a small pond at the bottom of my driveway that is eroding the concrete. My front yard also has a small stream that runs through it for which I have tried digging a trench to direct the water to the drainage culvert which is beside my house. Most people along W. College Street have this same problem and we would love to have this drainage problem solved by the city!!

It's poor engineering by the city to make the road higher like that.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We have visited the site during the rain on Monday 3/16. At first glance your yard may need more soil and sod placed to push the water on out.

A typical city street is designed with curb and gutter with stormwater infrastructure on place. If curb and gutter is not present, stormwater run-off is channeled through drainage ditches, including storm sewer pipe under the driveway approach. That does not exist today.

We have informed the stormwater engineers of the engineering and construction department, abut this issue. City staff is determined to find a permanent resolution to this complex problem. We are also exploring temporary solutions as well. Thank you for your patience.

Since you visited my site on March 16, I wanted you to know that I had two truckloads of dirt brought in and had it spread across the low areas in my yard when I had my driveway put in. It took me some time to save up for a new driveway and now your telling me I need sod to be placed in my yard. When you're on a limited income each month that's going to take me forever to save up for the sod you are telling me I need . Come on, I need help now before my new driveway is destroyed. By the way the ducks fly over from Rhema and float in my driveway and I hatch tadpoles also!

Our suggestion was a recommendation to help you resolve this issue. As mentioned before, we are exploring a short term solution, but this will likely take some time.

I did have grass in my yard but my yard and my driveway kept standing in water, so I had a new driveway put in and it was raised with the citys approval and two dump loads of dirt were bought in to solve my problem. My problem still exists and a lot of money was spent trying to solve your problem. How much time are you going to need another 5 years??

Since my last email I have had more top soil and sandy loom brought in plus my yard has new sod in it now. My yard no longer floods now but new driveway is still holding water. I know if this was your problem you would not put up with this, you would want it fixed so you could get your mail out of the mailbox instead of having to back your car out to get the mail. I'm beginning to think the City of Broken Arrow has just brushed this matter under the carpet and nothing will be done about the flooding problem in Country Aire .

The drainage ditches running next to my house from Country Aire Park barely contain the rain water. Earlier it was over the road. One fourth of my driveway is covered with rain water flowing from my neighbors up the street from my house toward the drainage ditch on the other side of my house. If I raise my yard, my neighbor gets even more flooded. This is incompetent drainage that was put in years ago when this neighborhood was created. Cannot figure how to post today's pictures but am willing to share if one would like to view them.
