No qualifications are required to submit suggestions to City of Raleigh on this site. Actually, it's the whole point to get public input on various City issues.

I agree with adding a leading green arrow at this intersection.

This is both a safety and traffic flow problem. Traffic backs up Westbound on Whitaker Mills each weekday morning. Its common to wait 3 - 4 lights for an opportunity to turn left (south).

Yes, this issue has been discussed for years. I posted on SeeClickFix a long time ago, and the issue remains. My solution is to avoid this intersection by going through the neighborhood to meet Glenwood at the next stoplight to the south. Probably not what the residents of that neighborhood would want everyone to do.

I do the same,MarciaMC248--when I go through on Scales to reach Harvey, I feel guilty because of the school traffic, which is already narrow enough.

I also agree with adding a left turn light for vehicles approaching the intersection from Whitaker Mill and from Fairview Road.

So what's the story, City of Raleigh? This is an easy and inexpensive fix. Just go reprogram the light to allow a 10 second leading green for every light cycle. Please respond with the process needed to make this change.
