Descrizione

There is a pedestrian crosswalk directly in front of Foothills Brewing but the paint lines are faded and difficult to spot for vehicular traffic. Also, there are no diamond-shaped "Pedestrian Crossing" signs to alert vehicular traffic that pedestrians might be crossing here. Because of the speed of traffic, is it possible not only to upgrade the markings and add signage on curbside posts, but also to add a median-line bollard sign denoting that state law requires stopping for pedestrians in the crosswalk?

D. New Sign or Change to Existing Sign:
R. New
D. If Change, Describe Change Requested:
R. CAUTION/WARNING SIGNAGE INDICATING PEDESTRIAN CROSSING/CROSSWALK TO ALERT VEHICULAR TRAFFIC. There is a mid-block marked pedestrian crossing in front of 638 W Fourth Street. The crosswalk is not easily seen by drivers traveling on Fourth Street. In addition to improved pavement markings for the crossing, signage denoting the crosswalk is needed. It should be on posts beside the roadway, visible to warn vehicular traffic. City staff should also evaluate whether bollard signage can be erected in the center line of the roadway, although there are driveways on the north side of the street where such a bollard would be appropriate and, unfortunately, would impact left turns into those driveways.
