Is the seep on the East bank, or on the West bank? If it's on the east bank (South of the bridge), where there is a low spot, filled with gravel, there was a [very old] can of paint buried in the ground. I mentioned the paint can, to the park ranger, several years ago; however, I don't know if the can was removed. Who knows what other trash is buried along the banks?
On the other hand, the seep could be the result of acidic water draining from the rocks, dissolving iron and, or humate?
The substance is a naturally occurring decomposition of the organic materials of the area. The area will be checked regularly for changes. We apologize for the delay in response and appreciate your patience. Thank you.
