5/27/2019 - So, this person can do whatever they want apparently. No repercussions. No police warning. No tickets for breaking noise ordinance. 530 am the other day. Revving the engine. RIGHT NOW IT'S GOING ON. They just took a car with no plates around the block. Isn't that illegal? The car is behind a grey Impala. This is the tenth time this has been reported.
Are you going to tell me to call again this time to? Did that. Still nothing. What do we have to do to actually see police enforce the laws they're supposed to uphold?
Previous post below
Until 945pm in this location a vehicle with no plates in the driveway revs their engine at a high rpm for almost 20 minutes and then plays a deep bass line music selection in the interval. It continues like this, revving engine and music, revving engine and then music continually long past the 8pm cutoff for noise. This is the only person in a two block radius making the night unbearable for the rest of the neighborhood. It's nice to see my tax money go towards police not doing anything.

No one is going to do anything about this until you go higher up. I suggest sending a message to the Mayor’s office. I live across the street from this home and have called the cops as well as a fellow neighbor. Their response? What do you want me to do about it?
Um, I don’t know. Maybe do your job so everyone else that abides by the law and isn’t a nuisance to the entire neighborhood can live peacefully? It’s ridiculous. The Albany Police Department DOES NOT care about its residents. I’ve called about other noise violations and they’ve done absolutely zilch about it. As a matter of fact, I’ve seen officers drive by and be stopped at the light just in front of this particular house WHILE THIS IS GOING ON, and they still didn’t give a flying. The entire group of officers that work out of that station do not care about policing this neighborhood.
Isn’t this forum a place where the citizens of this city can make their concerns known so they can be addressed? If that isn’t going to happen on this page, then it’s nothing but lip service. It’s nice to know you can get away with whatever you want because there will be ZERO repercussions.

Police dispatch DOES NOT CARE. They’ve been called. Multiple times. Want to know what they said the last time they were called when this crap was going on at 5:00 am? “What would you like me to do about it?”
Worthless. This whole thing is a joke. Nothing will be done and we all just have to live with it.

"long past the 8pm cutoff for noise" Although leniency goes down at night, there is no time that it is allowable to disturb others. You don't need to wait till nighttime to report this. Granted, it may take a lot of effort to get it taken care of because it is pretty obvious the city does not care about disturbances bothering residents. This turning a blind eye is what has helped lead to the 4 wheeler/motorcycle/dirt bike problem. Give an inch and rude, childish, selfish people will take a mile...
Pine Hills, You are right, the police won't proactively deal with these issues. It shouldn't take people complaining to address many of these issues. They will go right by disturbances. Seen it many times. If they were proactive things would not continue to get worse. Most people don't behave this way toward their neighbors, although the noise that is made by a small percentage of people makes it seem that way. As far as the mayor, I think that may be the source of the problem. If she cared she would put pressure on them. I wonder why she thinks this is how most people want to live. Perhaps there is some bigotry of some kind there. Or maybe worse, she thinks this is how we deserve to live. Otherwise, why would it be so objectionable to see that laws are enforced? But don't give up. That is what they want. They want people to live like animals. Then they won't complain about sanitation or roads or disturbances. This is where we are at in Albany.
