When called into the Water Dept I was told that it would be addressed within a 24 hour window. As of today 2-03-19, problem has not been resolved.

Ms. Tandy I need to discuss an urgent matter with you on a problem that I am experiencing with the Water and Sewerage Dept. I made a repair call to 267-8000 to correct a problem with an overflow of water from the meter located right at the tip of sidewalk. During the very cold weather water was freezing into a large block of ice. The Water Dept came and painted the area in blue paint and left. This was reported on 2-1-19. We threw large amounts of salt to dissolve to avoid slipping but during the extreme cold this did very little. This same problem happened above 12 or 13 years ago and the City dug up the area and repaired. This has happened again, but this time they are saying that it is a problem that the homeowner is responsible for. I do not agree and have been given 10 days to have corrected or stand to have the water service interrupted. When I first contacted the Water Dept I was concerned that it would be reflected on my water usage and it would be higher. They informed me that the water bill would not be affected. I monitored by January, February and March bills and it does not show a noticeable increase. With this be considered, how are they determining that the pipe that is connecting to the stop box is from homeowners side. Please assist me in getting this resolved. I am a senior of years and do all I can to be an asset to my neighborhood. I feel this time my innocents is being railroaded.
