Please accept this message as a request from a kocal tax payer representing a As One Cycling Team. We are one of many groups that risk personal injury each time we ride the 54 bike path. Also an important artery/access point for joggers, walkers of all ages. Reapectfuly and thanful for this service and your attention, Jose Madrid.

I frequently ride the Sweetwater Bikeway, at least several times a week and at night. There are several areas as reported above that are a severe hazard to bicycles and even foot traffic. They are not uniform and have caused serious injuries already. These need to be repaired. A quick site survey will convince you of the urgency of this matter. Most of the damaged areas are between Highland Avenue and I5. Thank you, Eric Axford

I mark some of this bumps with marking orange paint on the I-54 bike path between I-5 and I-805 please fix it.

Please put attention to these (6-7) large root uprisings on the bike path along Hwy 54. This needs to be taken care before more people are injured. Thank you, Ron Guitard - commuter and community member

We contacted San Diego as you suggested, We have been told this is a Chula Vista manages area? Can we please discus ( perhaps a phone call) to try and point us in the right direction, it appears there may be some confusion as to whom is responsible for this problem.

Thanks for using National City Connect. The City of National City maintains a small portion of this bike path. National City maintains the west side of the bike path starting at W. 33rd Street. Anything east from this location is maintained and serviced by County of San Diego.

Quick question for the person responding from Nat'l City connect. How can you say you take care of the area "west" of 33rd St when this street runs parallel with Highway 54 and is north of hwy 54? This doesn't make any sense. Can you a better explanation so we know if in fact you're understanding our needs, which is south of the Highway 54 AND north of the canal. If in fact the city of San Diego is responsible for this area (between National City and Chula Vista) we then would like to get a "phone number" of the person's name and the position this person is in so that we can connect directly to his/her office. Please help us keep our city streets safe. And if you will follow the information above we've been told to check with a representative in Chula Vista to have this resolved. Please pass on correct information. Thank You

I was told we need to contact Bruce at the County of San Diego. His number is (619) 443-1260. We need to all call him to let him know the importance of fixing this path ASAP.

Thank you Mc, all I was just notified by the county that they have requested a service ticket for repairs, though they did not have an anticipated time, they thought it typically took about two weeks for the process. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

@engineering The issue should be open and closed once its actually resolved. As of right now its just a game of ping pong as to who is responsible. The community is trying to help here, as I bet a lawyer could find out who is responsible the first time someone is seriously injured.

The area from 33rd and Hoover to the Plaza Bonita Gate is maintained by the County of San Diego From this point West, underneath the I-5 and going West to 32nd and Marina Way is maintained by City of National City.
