Descrizione
DOT crews paved McCrimmon Pkwy within the past month. While paving near the railroad crossing, they disabled the traffic lights. Since they have completed the paving and re-activated the lights, the timing of the light cycles has generated long traffic lines in the morning/evening on McCrimmon to take a right/left onto Chapel Hill Rd. This was not happening before the repaving project. Traffic is backed up as far as Davis Dr.

Sorry for the delay in my response. NCDOT by now has replaced the loops that were destroyed due to resurfacing and the timing as well. The main issue with this location is too many vehicles and not enough lanes. It is over saturated. All approaches have tremendous volumes during peak hours so to serve every approach is a balancing act.
Please call me at 919-220-4600 so I can explain the history of the location and the surrounding area that will give you a little more insight as to the issues NCDOT has had to deal with causing the issues that currently exist. The railroad and their policies is a big factor as to how trafffic flows in this area. I look forward to hearing from you. Andy McKay (afmckayjr@ncdot.gov)
