They are talking about the speed limit after your cross the bridge, it says 60km.....but if you a person who obeys that sign(like myself), it is rather frightful when people fly by you like mad men!

I too cross the bridge to come to work and go home. Every single day some or many people pull out and pass right in front of the police and clearly do not drive the speed limit. EVERY DAY. These people in their big SUV's and trucks (this is mostly who I have seen doing it) don't have any regard for the law. This is obviously allowed since not once have I seen the police stop them, ticket them or even warn them. Did I mention this is DAILY???? They seem to have this idea that the speed limit does not apply to them, and obviously so since the police do nothing to stop them. You know who you are, white buick suv, black lift kit Dodge ram, red hummer!!! Do you really think you are more important than everyone else on the bridge? This will just go on and on until someone gets hurt or killed. Why? Enforce the speed limit law. Its not that hard to do. All you people out there that think you deserve to get home sooner at the expense of others you are selfish and irresponsible. Shame on you.

yes going ACROSS is 40 km BUT as you get onto the part that takes you around to riverside drive it goes up to 60KM from there to 15th ave NE it is in this stretch that if you are actually doing the speed limit YOU are taking a very big risk as others will fly by you at 80km and up ....so why then drop the speed limit and claim it is for safety and availability to cross the hwy?....same as saying about the cell phones and everything else....are they going to have a 1 day blitz to curb this very unsafe driving?...oh wait it is PA i forgot for a min....we need a few families wiped out by someone who is texting and didnt bother to adhere to the speed limit because they are too important ......sure hope it isnt me and my family

Let the police handle the speeders. all you can do is take plates and descriptions and submit. I'm sure after having a dozen or so people hand in 20 plates EACH, they'd quickly get the message. but REMEMBER. Summary offences can be mailed to the offender now, so just because you don't see cops pulling over speeders, doesn't mean they aren't getting caught.

I disagree that anything will be done. Going home at 4:30 yesterday just after the 2 way traffic going north.. a young kid plate 060 hrs in a dark green datsun (maybe) and a grown man in a two tone older chevy truck both pulled out from behind the traffic GOING the speed limit and raced across the bridge and overpass. The kid then cut across the traffic ahead and turned onto the off ramp to shellbrook hiway... chevy just flew north. No police on the bridge..nothing will ever be done. Happens each and every day. Not just these two but hundreds of others. The point is these people really don't care about you or me, just themselves. They think they have the right to drive however they want and looks like thats exactly right,. Oh and try calling it in...I have. After giving them all my ID, dob, where I live etc I get a call saying they can't find that person or car?? Could I identify the driver?.. Sure if he/she wasn't going so fast, wearing a hoodie over their heads etc. Its a ridiculous joke and extremely frustrating. When did our society get so selfish? I am disappointed and disgusted with this behavior but since there are no consequences it will continue.

I cross that bridge 2x a day and got a speeding ticket for 186$ when i was thee only one on the highway at 11pm just getting off work... decellerating to the 60 zone, clocked at 73.... so i get the frustration when i am going 60 and getting passed and NO one gets pulled over!?

The day they write the RCMP van I followed going 80 is the day they can write me a ticket. It was the prisoner transport van...and no, there was no emergency involved. If there was, they have to turn their beacons on...besides, the driver and passenger looked pretty relaxed.

The speeds limits are excessively slow therefore everybody drives faster than the speed limit. There is no reason for 40km/h on the bridge and 60 after that. If you can not handle speeds in excess of 40 or 60 you should not be going onto a highway or even think about driving.

we need cameras installed in p.a. this should then solve the problems of speeders.
