SUGGESTION: While the City of STP is looking at this matter, please do the PROACTIVE thing and scan the entire block of 9th Avenue North between 8th Street North and Grove Street North. There are NUMEROUS potholes that keep forming and growing. And it is frustrating when the City of STP comes out and looks (with blinders on) at just ONE issue--without bothering to do the 'efficient' thing and ID and fix all of them at once! Thank you!

Thanks Chris. As a resident of this area, your response interests me. This stretch of 9th Avenue seems to ALWAYS have potholes or depressions forming. And when they get patched, they always seem to 'pop out' soon after. (Case in point--the several holes in that stretch from 8th Street to Grove Street.) Am wondering if some sort of line issue is extending for this entire stretch and causing these issues. BUT also--when it rains, this section of 9th Ave (and the surrounding streets and alleys) are all improperly graded and thus feed more water onto 9th Avenue than elsewhere. Example: The alley between 8th and Grove should--ideally (at least from my non-engineering POV) be 'peaked' in the middle and drain water equally both ways. It is not. In fact, the 'peak' of the alley is about 50 feet north of 7th Avenue--meaning the ENTIRE alley drains northward into 9th Avenue--thus creating more water-related damage/issues at a faster rate. Grove Street is the same way. So part of the issue may be improper pitching of surrounding streets/alleys. What's the fix for that? Tks!

Get used to a patch job. The city is not proactive and tends to spend more money patching. Heck they’ve done that for 10 years on 22st north in kenwood! No proper repair

Regarding 22nd Street North-you are correct. The City's current pavement plan has all arterial and tributary roads being completely resurfaced roughly every 10 years. That plan is the result of extensive research, planning, budgeting, and it is ultimately approved by our City Council. In between those complete resurfacings, the Stormwater, Pavement, and Traffic Operations Department provides upkeep of all City-maintained roadways.
