The human excrement on the path is a public nuisance. This issue had been in place for months but CoV provides no updates. Instead they keep closing new tickets as duplicates. Do something CoV!! Disgraceful.

So tired of these encampments.

Thanks for reporting this issue! The Police Department's Community Service Section (CSS) has opened a case for this issue. CSS staff are responsible for addressing all quality of life concerns, supporting Neighborhood Watch groups, and working with the Neighborhood Law Program and Code Enforcement to address distressed and dangerous properties. We work hard to investigate each report in a timely manner, and will investigate this report as soon as we possibly can. Please keep in mind there is a lengthy process to remove illegal encampments. The police are not going to clean up the mess left behind.

It is a constant issue in that location - this morning I walked by and smelled the fire they had going - really tired of it! Please clear it out for good!

With the effort of Public Works and our Community Service Sergeant we will be investigating this issue and devising a plan that will help with this issue. We understand the frustration and appreciate the understanding. There are certain protocols and legal actions that we have to abide by. We will keep you updated on our action.

Wow, this sounded great that CSS created a work order to deal with this problem! Unfortunately, the date on this post was July 2021! NOTHING has been done about it since then. Tis bitter fruit that grows in city hall.

Oops, my bad. Code Enforcement handed the baton to the CSS Bottomless Pit of Going Nowhere. This is why nothing got done.

Here we are, November 2023 and the situation is even worse. Code Enforcement? Community Services Section? Is anybody out there???

Bad and getting worse, still in March 2024. Acknowledged and ignored since 2021. COV? GVRD? VPD? CSS? Natalie? Any update??

Help me to understand why Napa is not overflowing with homeless encampments - or Benicia - or even Glen Cove. Because they pay higher taxes? Our government, council members, mayor and the like have the power to do something but they keep tossing around a hot potato while their constituency and the unhoused continue to suffer. Garbage City.

From what I hear on the street, our unhoused residents come to Vallejo to camp because of the city's lack of enforcement and policing. They don't get hassled by The Man as often happens in cities with properly functioning city governments. That said, the homeless situation is a sad and complex one. Bottom line, it's just more advantageous to camp here in Vallejo.
